Former President Trump has called for the U.S. debt ceiling to be permanently abolished, aligning for the first time with Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren on the issue.

Trump posted on Truth Social urging bipartisan action to scrap the limit, calling it a dangerous political tool that could lead to economic catastrophe.

Warren recently echoed similar views, and Trump shared her comments, saying he agrees with her stance, though they haven’t spoken directly, The Hill has reported.

The push comes as the Treasury warns of a potential default by mid-July without action, with Trump advocating for a $4 trillion increase in the debt ceiling as part of a broader bill.
