‘Mass shooting’ thwarted at Michigan high school graduation; 2 suspects arrested

A fistfight at a Michigan high school graduation nearly escalated into a mass shooting, officials said.

Two suspects, ages 19 and 20, both with weapons-related criminal histories, were taken into custody after a threat to “shoot up the crowd” was posted on Snapchat and quickly removed.

Authorities recovered two fully loaded firearms with 80 rounds combined from the suspects’ packages stashed under cars at the event.

The fight inside the venue was quickly controlled by staff, and no one was harmed, NBC News has reported.

The motive remains unclear, and investigations continue.
