Iran launched a major missile attack on Tel Aviv Friday night in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites.
While the Tel Aviv strike caused property damage, no injuries were initially reported there; however, at least 34 people were injured in other parts of Israel.
Iran described the barrage as the start of its “crushing response” to Israeli attacks that killed 78 people, including top Iranian generals and several nuclear scientists.
Israel’s operation, dubbed “Rising Lion,” targeted key nuclear facilities. Israeli leaders called the strikes necessary to counter an existential threat, Newsweek has reported.
Iran vowed further retaliation, calling Israel’s actions “state terrorism” at the U.N.
