Vance Boelter taken into custody in lawmaker shootings in Minnesota

Vance Boelter, 57, is in custody after allegedly shooting two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses in politically motivated attacks early Saturday.

Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed in Brooklyn Park, while Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were wounded in Champlin and are recovering.

The 36-hour manhunt, described as the largest in state history, ended Sunday near Boelter’s home in Green Isle, CBS News has reported.

Authorities have charged him with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
