Tourists break crystal-covered chair at Italian museum

An Italian museum is urging visitors to respect artwork after a tourist couple damaged a crystal-covered chair and fled.

Security footage from Verona’s Palazzo Maffei shows the pair posing for photos before the man accidentally fell on the Swarovski-covered “Van Gogh” chair, breaking two legs.

Although the damage has since been repaired, the museum released the footage to raise awareness about the importance of respecting art, CBS News has reported.

Officials have contacted police, criticizing the couple for leaving without reporting the incident.
