UN warns of possible contamination inside Iran’s Natanz site after Israeli strikes

The head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog warned that Israeli strikes on Iran’s Natanz facility may have caused internal radiological and chemical contamination, though radiation levels outside remain normal.

IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi highlighted the dangers of uranium hexafluoride exposure and stressed the need for timely data from Iran to assess risks.

Satellite imagery shows major damage to Natanz, while other facilities in Isfahan were also hit.

However, key sites like Fordo, Bushehr, and the Tehran Research Reactor remain unaffected, the Associated Press has reported.

Grossi warned that continued military escalation increases the risk of a serious radiological incident.
