Trump says he won’t ‘waste time’ calling Minnesota governor after slayings

President Donald Trump said he will not call Minnesota Governor Tim Walz following a shooting that killed Democratic state lawmaker Melissa Hortman and injured another.

Trump condemned the violence but dismissed contacting Walz, calling him “a mess.”

The suspect, 57-year-old Vance Boelter, was arrested and charged with murder and stalking after allegedly impersonating a police officer and targeting Democratic lawmakers.

Authorities found notebooks with names of political figures and abortion rights advocates but no clear manifesto, Al-Jazeera has reported.

The attack has heightened concerns over political violence, with officials continuing to investigate Boelter’s motives.
