Sunken Bayesian superyacht raised from seabed near Sicily

Nearly a year after it sank off Sicily, the luxury superyacht Bayesian has been raised from the seabed.

The disaster killed seven of the 22 people aboard, including British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his daughter Hannah.

Italian prosecutors requested the yacht be inspected before full removal, as investigations continue into the cause.

A UK report found that extreme winds over 80mph likely caused the vessel to capsize rapidly.

The yacht was anchored near Porticello when it sank during a sudden storm on August 19, 2024, the BBC has reported.

Salvage efforts had previously been delayed after a diver died during the operation.
