Thomas Lee Gudinas, 51, was executed Tuesday evening in Florida for the 1994 rape and murder of Michelle McGrath near a central Florida bar.
After being sentenced to death in 1995, his appeals—citing mental illness and constitutional concerns—were rejected by both state and federal courts.
Gudinas repented before the lethal injection.
He was the seventh person executed in Florida this year, which leads the nation in executions in 2025, NBC News has reported.
Officials reported no operational issues despite the increased execution pace.
