Former Trump lawyer Kenneth Chesebro disbarred in New York over 2020 election

Kenneth Chesebro, a former legal adviser to Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign, has been disbarred in New York for his role in a scheme to overturn Trump’s election loss.

A state appeals court cited his conspiracy to file false documents in Georgia as undermining constitutional democracy.

Chesebro pleaded guilty in 2023.

The court criticized his conduct as aggravated by his expertise in election law and found strong evidence he was a key architect of Trump’s efforts, NBC News has reported.

He joins other Trump-allied lawyers, like Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, who have also faced legal penalties.
