A 92-year-old British man, Ryland Headley, was convicted Monday of the 1967 rape and murder of 75-year-old Louisa Dunne in Bristol, closing a 58-year cold case.
Dunne was found strangled in her home.
Despite a massive early investigation, the case went unsolved until a 2023 review used modern DNA analysis on preserved evidence, matching Headley’s DNA from a 1977 rape arrest, CNN has reported.
He was arrested in 2024 and has denied the charges.
