Man who killed his family after his wife sought a divorce is set for execution in Florida

Edward Zakrzewski is scheduled to be executed in Florida on July 31 under a death warrant signed by Governor Ron DeSantis.

He was convicted of killing his wife and two children in 1994 in Okaloosa County after she asked for a divorce, beating and strangling his wife and killing the children with a machete.

Zakrzewski pleaded guilty in 1996 and received three death sentences; he later turned himself in after the case was featured on Unsolved Mysteries, the Associated Press has reported.

His execution will be the ninth in Florida this year, which has already seen multiple executions, including one just last week.
