The Trump administration is deploying 200 Marines to Florida to support ICE deportation operations, following a request from the Department of Homeland Security.
While the Marines will assist with immigration enforcement logistics, they are barred from direct contact with detainees.
Similar deployments are planned for Louisiana and Texas, the New York Post has reported.
The move follows last month’s deployment of 700 Marines to Los Angeles to help manage anti-ICE protests, which drew criticism from California’s governor for escalating tensions.
