Julio Cesar Chavez Jr arrested by ICE agents over alleged cartel connections just days after Jake Paul fight

Boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles for deportation to Mexico, where he faces an active arrest warrant for organized crime and arms trafficking linked to cartel activity.

The former champion, who lost to Jake Paul on June 28, allegedly made false statements on his U.S. residency application about cartel connections.

Chavez, a Mexican citizen with a tourist visa, has a career record of 54-7-1. U.S. authorities say his arrest reflects a crackdown on cartel affiliates operating in the country, the U.S. Sun has reported.
