Kawasaki and Foxconn build robot nursing assistant to tackle hospital scutwork

Foxconn and Kawasaki Heavy Industries have unveiled “Nurabot,” a robotic nursing assistant based on Kawasaki’s existing Nyokkey design.

Equipped with two arms, a storage compartment, and self-driving capability, Nurabot is designed to help nurses transport samples, deliver medicine, and guide patients in hospitals.

With Taiwan facing a nurse shortage, the companies aim to ease workloads and plan to begin selling the robot in 2026, The Register has reported.

Kawasaki also recently launched another medical robot for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
