Texas floods leave at least 51 dead, 27 girls missing

Rescuers in central Texas continued searching Saturday for survivors of a historic flash flood that killed at least 51 people, including 15 children, with 27 girls still missing from Camp Mystic in Kerr County.

The Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in 45 minutes, sweeping away homes and vehicles.

Search teams used helicopters, boats, and drones, while rains and flash flood warnings persisted.

Questions arose over whether camps and residents received enough warning, the Associated Press reported.

Governor Greg Abbott declared Sunday a day of prayer for victims and missing people as families awaited news of loved ones.
