Tropical Storm Chantal expected to make landfall in South Carolina

Tropical Storm Chantal is expected to make landfall in South Carolina early Sunday, bringing heavy rain, gusty winds, and the risk of flash flooding to the Carolinas.

As of Saturday night, Chantal had 50 mph winds and was about 65 miles east of Charleston.

Tropical storm warnings were issued along parts of the South and North Carolina coasts, CBS News has reported.

Forecasters expect 2–4 inches of rain, with local totals up to 6 inches, before the storm weakens after landfall.
