Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held peace talks in the UAE on Thursday but announced no breakthrough.
Despite agreeing to continue negotiations and border delimitation efforts, major issues remain unresolved, including Azerbaijan’s demand for constitutional changes in Armenia and a transport corridor to its Nakhchivan exclave.
The talks follow decades of conflict, most recently Azerbaijan’s 2023 offensive to recapture Nagorno-Karabakh, which led to the mass exodus of its Armenian population, Al-Jazeera has reported.
