Trump will be hosted by King at Windsor during second state visit

Donald Trump has accepted King Charles III’s invitation for a rare second state visit to the UK, scheduled for September 17–19, and will be hosted at Windsor Castle alongside First Lady Melania Trump.

This visit is unusual as second-term presidents typically do not receive full state visits.

The event will feature traditional ceremonies and a state banquet with senior Royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Security concerns mean the visit will likely avoid public events.

The invitation, delivered by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, aims to strengthen UK-US ties amid ongoing trade and geopolitical issues, the BBC has reported.

Trump is also expected to visit Scotland earlier for a golf course opening, but will not meet the King then.
