Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned that Moscow may consider preemptive strikes against the West in response to increased NATO and U.S. support for Ukraine, calling the current situation a “full-scale war.”
His remarks follow President Donald Trump’s announcement of 100% secondary tariffs on countries buying Russian oil unless Moscow agrees to peace within 50 days.
Trump also pledged Patriot missile systems for NATO allies to route to Ukraine, though details remain unclear, Fox News has reported.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy criticized the 50-day timeline, calling for faster action and stronger sanctions, while Switzerland confirmed U.S. deliveries of Patriot systems to Ukraine would delay its own.
