The U.S. Army is testing robot coyotes as an innovative solution to keep wildlife off airfields and prevent dangerous runway incidents.
Developed by the Army Engineer Research and Development Center and wildlife experts, these fast-moving, remote-controlled vehicles carry realistic coyote decoys to scare away birds and other animals.
Early trials at military bases have shown success, and future versions may use AI, sensors, and cameras to operate autonomously and adapt to different wildlife threats, Fox News has reported.
The goal is to improve airfield safety through a high-tech, cost-effective approach.
