Shane Tamura, 27, killed four people in a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper before taking his own life, leaving behind a suicide note accusing the NFL of concealing the risks of brain injuries linked to football.
A former high school player with a history of mental illness, Tamura requested his brain be studied for CTE.
Armed with an AR-15-style rifle, he killed an NYPD officer, a Blackstone executive, a security guard, and a real estate employee, possibly mistaking the building for the NFL’s offices, the Wall Street Journal has reported.
Tamura drove cross-country from Las Vegas and left behind weapons, medication, and additional writings referencing former NFL player Terry Long.
