Devil’s Den murder suspect James Andrew McGann was North Texas elementary teacher

Andrew James McGann, a 28-year-old former teacher, has been arrested and charged with the stabbing deaths of Clinton and Cristen Brink, who were killed while hiking with their two daughters at Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas.

McGann, who previously taught in Texas and Oklahoma, was arrested four days after the murders and admitted to the killings, though no motive has been released.

The victims’ daughters, ages 7 and 9, escaped and alerted authorities.

McGann is being held on two counts of capital murder, Fox 4 has reported.

He had recently been hired in Arkansas as a teacher but had not yet begun work.
