A gunman opened fire at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno on Monday, killing three people and injuring several others in a rampage involving 80 shots, authorities said.
The suspect, 26-year-old Dakota Hawver of Reno, was critically wounded in a shootout with police and remains hospitalized.
Police say Hawver had no known connection to the casino or the victims, and his motive is still unclear.
The victims include two Southern California men in town for a bachelor party and a local Reno resident.
Hawver legally purchased the handgun used and had no criminal or mental health history, Fox News has reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
