Ukraine arrests air force major suspected of spying for Russia

Ukraine’s Security Service has arrested an air force major accused of spying for Russia by leaking the locations, flight schedules, and defense details of Western-supplied fighter jets, including U.S. F-16s and French Mirage 2000s.

The officer allegedly aided Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian air bases and shared personal data on Ukrainian pilots.

He was caught while gathering more intelligence and charged with treason, facing a possible life sentence, Politico has reported.

The arrest follows a recent case involving two Chinese nationals accused of spying on Ukraine’s missile program.
