Hot dog spill shuts down highway in Pennsylvania

A truck carrying hot dogs crashed on Interstate 83 in Pennsylvania Friday morning, spilling its load across the road and briefly shutting down traffic in both directions.

The crash, caused by a mechanical issue, involved a passenger vehicle and left four people with non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews used a front-end loader to clean up the scattered hot dogs, which were deemed unsalvageable, ABC News has reported.

Despite the mess, responders found humor in the unusual situation, with one official joking about the surprising slipperiness of hot dogs.
