Aalborg Zoo in northern Denmark is asking the public to donate small pets—such as guinea pigs, rabbits, and chickens—as food for its predators.
The zoo says the animals will be humanely euthanized by trained staff to promote natural feeding behaviors and animal welfare.
The initiative aims to reduce waste and maintain professional care standards, the Associated Press has reported.
The zoo also expressed interest in receiving horses but did not list other animals.
