Miami’s sailing community is mourning the death of a third child following a tragic sailboat and barge collision in Biscayne Bay on July 28.
The crash, which occurred between Monument and Hibiscus Islands, involved five girls aged 7 to 13 and a 19-year-old woman, all thrown into the water.
Two girls died at the scene, and a 10-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries days later.
The Miami Yacht Club and Youth Sailing Foundation expressed deep grief and pledged support for the families, CNN has reported.
A Coast Guard-led investigation is underway, with international cooperation from Argentina and Chile.
