Attorney General Pam Bondi has ordered a grand jury investigation into how Obama-era officials handled intelligence on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The move follows claims by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who declassified documents she says show a “treasonous conspiracy” by Obama officials to undermine Donald Trump.

Critics, including former DNI James Clapper, have rejected the allegations as baseless, The Hill has reported.

Obama’s office dismissed the investigation as a “distraction.”
