Oregon man accused of killing 3 women is indicted on fourth murder charge

Jesse Lee Calhoun, already indicted for the murders of three women in the Portland area, has now been charged with a fourth killing—that of 22-year-old Kristin Smith in November 2022.

A grand jury added counts of second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse to his case.

Calhoun, suspected of killing and dumping the bodies of young women across Oregon and southwest Washington, remains in custody with a trial expected in 2027.

Authorities continue investigating a possible fifth related death, Associated Press has reported.

Calhoun was previously released early from prison for wildfire firefighting but was returned in 2023 when linked to the killings.
