A Chilean judge has suspended proceedings against U.S. teen pilot and influencer Ethan Guo, who has been stranded on an Antarctic island since June after allegedly landing without permission.
Guo, attempting to fly solo to all seven continents for cancer research fundraising, was accused of filing a false flight plan.
Under the deal, he must donate $30,000 to a children’s cancer charity, leave Chile, and stay out of its territory for three years, or face renewed prosecution.
Authorities say he deviated from his route mid-flight; his lawyer cites in-air “complications,” CNN has reported.
Guo and his plane remain in Antarctica, with limited options to leave before early October.
