Former President Donald Trump has called for Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook to resign, citing allegations about her mortgages in Michigan and Georgia.

The claims, raised by US Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, suggest Cook improperly declared multiple homes as primary residences to obtain favorable loan terms in 2021.

Trump amplified the allegations on social media and has reportedly considered trying to remove her from the Fed, Al-Jazeera has reported.

The Justice Department is reportedly reviewing the matter, while Cook and the Fed have not commented.
