About 4,000 homes remain under evacuation notice, including 1,000 under mandatory “go now” orders.

Officials warned shifting winds and returning hot, dry weather could worsen conditions, though recent cloud cover and humidity briefly slowed the blaze.

Governor Tina Kotek has invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act to bring in extra resources, while shelters and fairgrounds are housing displaced residents and animals, Fox News has reported.
