China successfully launched a new set of Yaogan-40 satellites into polar orbit.

The satellites were deployed aboard a Long March 2D rocket.

The launch took place from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

These satellites are intended for Earth observation and reconnaissance purposes.
