Minneapolis police investigate two mass shootings in 12 hours

Minneapolis police are investigating two mass shootings Monday that left 13 people injured.

In the morning, five men were shot near East Lake Street and Stevens Avenue, one critically.

That night, eight more people were wounded at a homeless encampment on East Lake Street, four in serious condition.

Mayor Jacob Frey vowed to clear the encampment once the investigation ends, sparking a dispute with the property owner, who called for more humane solutions, KARE NBC 11 has reported.

Police have found shell casings at multiple locations but have not made any arrests, and it remains unclear how many gunmen were involved.
