Rivian has begun construction on a $5 billion electric vehicle factory east of Atlanta, spanning 2,000 acres in Walton and Morgan counties.

The plant is expected to create 7,500 jobs, with production starting in 2028.

Rivian will host a community event Sunday and a formal groundbreaking with officials Tuesday, emphasizing its long-term commitment to Georgia’s EV industry despite previous delays, 95.5 WSB Radio has reported.
