David Pittman, 63, was executed by lethal injection in Florida on Wednesday for the 1990 murders of his estranged wife’s parents and sister, marking the state’s 12th execution in 2025 — a record under Governor Ron DeSantis.
Convicted in 1991 of stabbing the three victims, setting their home on fire, and stealing a car, Pittman maintained his innocence until his death.
His final appeal, which argued intellectual disability, was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court, The Guardian has reported.
Florida has two more executions scheduled this fall, as DeSantis continues an aggressive use of death warrants.
