Two elk hunters, Andrew Porter, 25, of North Carolina, and Ian Stasko, 25, of Utah, who went missing on Friday in southwest Colorado, were found dead Thursday morning by search and rescue teams.
Their bodies were discovered near the Rio de los Pinos trailhead after an extensive search involving multiple agencies, volunteers, and specialized teams.
The men had last shared their location on Sept. 11 and were hunting in rugged terrain when they disappeared.
Family members had been updating the public and organizing search efforts through social media and a GoFundMe page, the Colorado Sun has reported.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, with identification and next-of-kin notifications pending.
