Tyler Robinson, accused of assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, remains in a jail’s special housing unit despite completing a mental health evaluation.
Robinson faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder and firearm-related offenses.
Jail officials said he has been seen by medical and mental health staff but will stay in special housing for now, with his location subject to change, Fox News has reported.
Experts suggest the evaluation indicates he should not be housed with the general population, and his defense team may use it in plea negotiations or for an insanity or mitigation defense during trial.
