Iran has begun rebuilding missile-production sites hit by Israel during the 12-day war in June, according to satellite imagery analyzed by the Associated Press.
However, key equipment—large “planetary mixers” needed to produce solid fuel—appears to be missing, limiting full restoration of the program.
Missile production is a central part of Iran’s military deterrence, especially after its air defenses were heavily damaged during the conflict.
Experts note that Iran may seek to acquire the mixers from China, as it has previously sourced missile components there, while also preparing for potential U.N. sanctions targeting its missile program, the Associated Press has reported.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to address the U.N. General Assembly amid growing international scrutiny.
