President Donald Trump signed a presidential memorandum on Thursday directing the government to intensify investigations into groups suspected of supporting “domestic terrorism and organized political violence.”
The move comes after the recent killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and other violent incidents, including a fatal shooting at a Dallas ICE facility.
Trump claimed, that “wealthy people” are funding political violence, blaming the “radical left” for these attacks.
Attorney General Pam Bondi said the targets would include “any organized group who is committing these crimes,” but no specific organizations were named.
Trump later singled out liberal donors George Soros and Reid Hoffman, CNN has reported.
The Open Society Foundations, led by Soros, called the memorandum a “politically motivated attack” and rejected accusations of funding terrorism.
