2 more bodies found after Michigan church shooting led to devastating fire

On Sunday morning, a gunman attacked the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, killing at least four people and injuring eight others in what authorities describe as a targeted act of violence.

The attacker, identified as 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford of Burton, drove a truck into the chapel, set it on fire, and opened fire with an assault rifle before being shot and killed by police within minutes.

Authorities are still searching the burned church for additional victims.

Officials praised the bravery of first responders and congregants who shielded children and helped others escape.

The FBI is leading the investigation and encourages the public to provide tips, the Detroit Free Press has reported.

A family assistance center has been set up to support victims, relatives, and community members.
