Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said he has not been contacted by federal authorities in the investigation into former FBI Director James Comey.
McCabe expressed surprise, noting his account of events before the 2016 election is cited in Comey’s indictment.
Comey was charged with making a false statement and obstructing a congressional proceeding related to testimony about a leak to The Wall Street Journal.
McCabe said he never saw Comey authorize anyone else to leak information and cannot confirm the allegations, The Hill has reported.
The charges stem from conflicting accounts between Comey and McCabe regarding leaks and communications with reporters during the 2016 Clinton investigation.
