Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told troops at Quantico that the military’s mission is solely to prepare for and win wars, rejecting “woke” diversity programs and relaxed standards.
He urged those opposed to his message to resign and announced 10 directives restoring pre-2015 combat standards, enforcing strict grooming rules, mandating gender-neutral fitness tests, and returning basic training to harsher, more disciplined practices.
Hegseth criticized DEI initiatives, climate policies, and what he called the misuse of terms like “toxic leadership,” pledging to empower commanders and cut back on complaints, Fox News has reported.
Framing his reforms as a revival of warrior ethos, he warned adversaries with “peace through strength” and declared it a “Liberation Day” for U.S. forces.
