The White House released a 20-point plan for ending the war in Gaza, proposing an international “Board of Peace” chaired by President Trump to oversee reconstruction and governance until the Palestinian Authority (PA) meets conditions to assume control.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is also slated to join the board.
The plan calls for Hamas to disarm, renounce governance, and release hostages, with Israel scaling back its military presence.
In return, Israel would release Palestinian prisoners and allow humanitarian aid.
If Hamas refuses, an International Stabilization Force (ISF) would take over security in “terror-free” areas, and Israel would maintain the option to act independently.
The plan envisions reforms for the PA, training new Palestinian police, and creating a special economic zone in Gaza to attract investment and jobs, The Hill has reported.
While the plan aims to freeze fighting, ensure hostage releases, and set a pathway to a Palestinian state, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has rejected Palestinian statehood, and Hamas has not been consulted.
Trump says several Arab and Muslim countries support the plan, although some, like Saudi Arabia, require a credible pathway to Palestinian statehood before recognizing Israel.
