The Colorado Bureau of Investigation will review the 2005 suicide ruling in Hunter S. Thompson’s death at the request of his widow, Anita Thompson.
Thompson, the father of gonzo journalism, died at age 67 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Woody Creek, Colorado.
Although Anita said she heard him cock the gun during a phone call just before his death, she later suggested it may have been a mistake and urged a fresh look, DNYUZ has reported.
Authorities stress there is no evidence of foul play; the review is intended to provide an independent perspective and peace of mind for his family and the public.
