Michigan church shooter’s family reacts to viral fundraising effort by Latter-day Saint members

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have raised over $225,000 for the widow and son of Thomas Sanford, who killed four people in a Michigan church attack.

The fundraiser, launched by a church member, highlights forgiveness and supporting the shooter’s family, who are considered innocent victims.

Sanford’s son has a rare genetic disorder requiring costly healthcare.

Donors left messages of encouragement, expressing love and support despite the tragedy, Fox News has reported.

Some have criticized the effort for helping the perpetrator’s family instead of the victims, but organizers emphasize that the family should not be left behind.
