Teen charged with murder after allegedly killing two girls in deadly hit-and-run crash

Two teen girls, Maria Niotis and Isabella Salas, were killed in a hit-and-run in New Jersey while riding an electric bike.

The 17-year-old driver, from Garwood, allegedly struck them with his 2021 Jeep Compass and has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

The girls were pronounced dead after arriving at local hospitals.

Neighbors said the suspect had been repeatedly parked outside one of the girl’s homes for months, despite complaints and no apparent action from school administrators or police, Fox News has reported.

Friends and community members described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy for the families involved.
