Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that supplying long-range missiles, such as U.S. Tomahawks, to Ukraine would seriously harm Moscow-Washington relations but would not alter the battlefield, where he claims Russian forces are steadily advancing.
Speaking at a forum in Sochi, Putin said Russian air defenses would quickly adapt and dismissed criticism of Russia’s military, arguing it is facing all of NATO backing Ukraine.
He also praised former U.S. President Trump’s efforts to negotiate peace and described their Alaska summit as productive, while a White House official noted Russia’s economy and reputation have suffered from the war, the Associated Press has reported.
