Sean “Diddy” Combs apologized in a letter to the judge ahead of his sentencing for two prostitution-related convictions, taking full responsibility for his actions and expressing remorse to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another woman, “Jane.”

Combs described his behavior as rooted in selfishness, excess, and drug use, and said his year in prison has changed him.

He begged for a lenient sentence to spend time with his family and continue improving as a father and community leader.

A jury found Combs guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges, ABC News has reported.

Prosecutors are seeking an 11-year sentence, while his defense has requested 14 months, equivalent to the time he has already served.
